MLAC's Bart J. Gordon Memorial Fellowship improves access to legal assistance for communities whose linguistic and cultural backgrounds are barriers to the delivery of legal aid.

The Fellowship, which rotates among the Massachusetts legal aid programs that receive funding from MLAC, provides financial support to new attorneys qualified to address these barriers. One new Gordon Fellow is funded each year for a one-year term (there is an option to renew for a second year).

There currently are two first-year Gordon Fellows: Weayonnoh Nelson, serving at South Coastal Counties Legal Services, and Nina Sa', serving at Legal Assistance Corporation of Central Massachusetts. June Beack is completing the second year of her fellowship at Neighborhood Legal Services. Below is a full list of Gordon Fellows since 1991.
