You may make a donation to MLAC through our secure donation page at Network for Good. 100% of all gifts MLAC receives will be distributed to the legal aid programs it funds. You may also choose to restrict your gift to a specific program by including the program’s name under “Designation” on the online form (view the complete list of programs).

Please help protect legal aid by signing up to receive Equal Justice Coalition Action Alerts. Throughout the legislative campaign, you will receive 4-6 email updates with the latest news on the budget and instructions on how to contact the Governor or your legislator to show your support for protecting civil legal aid funding.

Volunteer
Walk to the Hill for Civil Legal Aid
If you’re an attorney in Massachusetts- either a solo practitioner or with a firm or corporation - get involved with Walk to the Hill for Civil Legal Aid, an annual event that brings together hundreds of attorneys from more than 40 firms to lobby state lawmakers on behalf of civil legal aid funding. If you are a law student, there are volunteer opportunities available at Walk to the Hill as well. The next Walk to the Hill will be held in January 2010, however, planning starts early.

Professional Opportunities
Due to a consistent lack of resources, it is estimated that legal aid
programs turn away nearly half of those eligible for service. To help reduce the severity of this shortfall, programs are always in need of skilled volunteers to donate their time and talents. There are a wide variety of opportunities available for law students, attorneys, mental health professionals, and others. Below are links to the "volunteer" sections of program Web sites.
