Access To Justice Commission Report

The Massachusetts Access to Justice Commission was appointed by the Supreme Judicial Court in June 2005.  It is chaired by former Supreme Judicial Court Chief Justice Herbert P. Wilkins and has 21 members made up of individuals from the courts, legal services programs, charitable entities that fund civil legal services, bar associations and social service agencies. The Commission held a number of hearings to learn more about barriers to access to justice, particularly for individuals and families with low incomes, and what could be done about those barriers.
